I very much agree with you about the benefits of re-introducing these animals into the Scottish environment. But it has to be done properly by people who know what they’re doing and not the persons involved in the recent release of what were clearly human habituated animals that were very unlikely to be able to survive in the wild.
Totally true. It’ll be interesting to see whether the police find out who was behind those illegal reintroductions - and whether it was proponents of rewilding who are frustrated with the bureaucracy of doing it properly OR an opponent of rewilding who wanted to discredit the whole concept.

Or, it has been suggested, someone who had them, and I use this word advisedly, pets. They were too much trouble to look after.
